MiCA white paper validator

Upload your Inline XBRL (XHTML) white paper and see how it validates against the ESMA MiCA taxonomy: instance errors and the existence and value assertions, broken down per group. This is a technical check of your tagging, not legal advice and not regulatory approval.

Legal basis: ITS (EU) 2024/2984 (forms, formats and templates); ESMA MiCA XBRL taxonomy v1.0. The iXBRL/XHTML format is mandatory for MiCA white papers since 23 December 2025.

What this validator does

It runs your uploaded XHTML file through the Arelle XBRL processor against the ESMA MiCA taxonomy and reports what it finds: whether the Inline XBRL parses cleanly, whether every dependency resolves, and which of the taxonomy's existence and value assertions are satisfied. A pass means zero errors against the taxonomy's assertions. It does not mean your white paper is compliant, complete, or approved by any authority.

Validator temporarily unavailable

The validation service is not connected in this environment yet. The upload check is live, but reports cannot be produced right now. Please check back shortly.

Witness is software, not a law firm, and this tool does not provide legal advice. It validates an uploaded document against the ESMA MiCA taxonomy. A pass means zero errors against the taxonomy's assertions, not that your white paper is compliant, complete, or approved by any authority. Always confirm against the current ESMA taxonomy and your national competent authority before filing.

Official source

The taxonomy and format requirements come from ITS (EU) 2024/2984 and the ESMA MiCA XBRL taxonomy documentation. This tool validates against the ESMA MiCA taxonomy; it does not submit your white paper to any national competent authority.

Frequently asked questions

Does a pass mean my white paper is MiCA-compliant?

No. A pass means your document has zero errors against the ESMA taxonomy's technical assertions. Compliance also depends on the accuracy and completeness of the content, notification to your national competent authority, and other MiCA obligations. This tool is software, not legal advice, and it does not approve or file anything.

What file do I upload?

The single XHTML file with embedded Inline XBRL tags that ITS (EU) 2024/2984 requires. PDFs are not accepted, because the machine-readable format has been mandatory since 23 December 2025.

Is my white paper stored?

No. Your file is streamed to the validation service, processed, and discarded. Nothing about the filing is persisted; only an anonymous rate-limit record is kept, and that is purged within 24 hours.

What does the validator actually check?

It runs the ESMA MiCA taxonomy's existence and value assertions against your document using the Arelle XBRL processor, and reports instance errors, assertion results, and dependency resolution per group. It reflects the taxonomy version it was built against; always confirm against the current ESMA taxonomy before filing.
